CBS put in place Tuesday (Nov. 10) a new management structure for its local TV and radio broadcast operations. The new local broadcast organization, which combines TV and radio into one segment, was in keeping with the company’s new financial reporting structure revealed last week during its third-quarter earnings call.

To head up the new local broadcast team, the company named Anton Guitano to the newly created position of chief operating officer of CBS Local Media. A 31-year veteran of CBS, Guitano has managed the finances for both the TV and Radio divisions, most recently serving as chief financial officer and senior executive vp of operations for CBS Radio.

In his new position, Guitano will oversee the TV and radio divisions’ financial and strategic operations. Hell also lead the company’s efforts to leverage the companys portfolio of local news and Internet properties in CBS markets. Guitano will serve three masters: Les Moonves, president and CEO of CBS; Dan Mason, president and CEO of CBS Radio; and Peter Dunn, who was just named president of CBS Television Stations.

“This is a good time for this move. Our TV and radio stations are gaining momentum week by week and are operating from a position of strength. I look forward to working with this creative and seasoned team of managers as we capitalize on the developing recovery and build a new paradigm for the future growth of our local businesses,” Moonves said.
