The local ABC television network station KDNL Channel 30 has announced a new partnership with local NBC affiliate KSDK Channel 5 that will bring back weeknight local newscasts to the ABC affiliate.
Beginning Jan. 3, KSDK, which is owned by the Gannett Corp., will produce nightly half-hour newscasts at 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. for KDNL, which is owned by Sinclair Broadcasting Group Inc. Channel 30 aired its last local newscast in October 2001. Additional content to be produced by KSDK also will air on weekends on KDNL.

KSDK spokesman Jeff Winget said the move is not a merger. More…
