KHQ is getting hit hard by Covid-19.

A third person at the Spokane, Wash., station has tested positive for the virus. Sean Owsley, who has been anchoring the show The 6:30 while in quarantine, tweeted that he was sick last Tuesday.

“Even though it’s my personal health, I feel like sharing with all of you that I’ve tested positive for Covid-19 can be helpful,” Owsley said.I feel pretty good and that’s why I’m anchoring from home for the two-week quarantine.

The NBC station now has three confirmed cases, according to general manager Patricia McRae. Others at the station have tested positive for Covid-19 antibodies.

According to The Spokesman-Review, the station is down to 10% of its staff in the building. The second phase of reopening will expand staff capacity to 30%.

KHQ will maintain its social-distancing protocols through at least September, McRae told The Spokesman-Review, at which point the station will evaluate reopening plans.
