A TV news helicopter following the funeral procession of a Marine killed in Afghanistan was forced to make an emergency landing this morning after its engine failed.
According to police reports, the helicopter — which was being shared by Detroit TV stations — landed safely in a field behind Parkway Chrysler Jeep, off of Hall Road, about 10:53 a.m.
None of the three people in the aircraft was injured.
According to reports, the crew reported hearing two loud bangs, after which the aircraft began to lose power. More…
