In Dayton, Retired Anchor Returns to the Air

Carl Day, a veteran Dayton television anchor, has come out of retirement and has returned to television just in time for his 72nd birthday.

Day will be doing special commentary pieces on WRGT-TV, Channel 45 and WKEF-TV, Channel 22 newscasts twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The series will be called “A Better Day” and will appear on Channel 22 at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. and on Channel 45 at 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The first commentary aired Thursday evening during the 6:30 p.m. local news on Channel 45.

Day, who turned 72 on Friday, Jan. 8 said, “This is a great birthday present. I want to thank Dean Ditmer, the vice president and general manager of the two stations for bringing me home to something I love– broadcasting.” More…
