In Chicago, WBBM’s New Promos May Rile Purists

From the moment they arrived in Chicago a little less than two years ago, WBBM-Channel 2 general manager Bruno Cohen and news director Jeff Kiernan have been all about differentiating the station’s news operation from the local competition.

But all the while doing so in a way both executives hoped would eventually lift the station and its news ratings up from the cellar, where they have been lately, and closer to the No. 1 position they were in 30 years ago.
