Longtime KCCI-TV newsman George Wylie passed away on Saturday.

Family said Wylie died of a stroke in Ames this weekend at the age of 70.

Wylie worked as a reporter and anchor at KRNT/KCCI from 1967 to 1984. He left as our noon news anchor to become an anchor at WOI-TV, where he worked until 1989, at which point he entered the real estate business in Ames.
