Illinois Reporter Hits Deer in Live Shot During Morning Show

WSIL reporter Dave Davis was unhurt after hitting a deer while he was doing a live report on this morning’s newscast. Unfortunately, we can’t say the same about the deer.

“As strong storms moved through parts of our region, a runaway deer ended up causing the most damage for WSIL,” reports the Harrisburg, Illinois ABC affiliate. “Our reporter, Dave Davis, was reporting live when a deer ran in front of his vehicle on Route 166.”

The station says the deer died in the crash.

The station says “the camera was attached to the dash and he was on a bluetooth device.”
