How a New York Weather Guy Made it in to the Rose Bowl Parade

ESPN’s Hannah Storm and Josh Elliott, who normally co-host SportsCenter’s morning edition, got up even earlier on New Year’s Day and were co-hosting ABC’s coverage of the Rose Bowl Parade. But at one point during the parade, Storm, a former co-anchor of CBS’ “The Early Show” was thinking of another Elliott — a former East Coast colleague:

Storm: Happy New Year. On behalf of John Elliott, I’m Hannah Storm.

Elliott: Who? …. Who?

Storm: Did I say John Elliott?

Elliott: We’ve only worked together every day for the last three years.

Storm: Josh Elliott. You know, John Elliott is a weatherman on the East Coast — he’s been hard at work documenting the snow storm, so we’ve seen a lot of him. Josh Elliott. Hannah Storm with you…. Partner.

John Elliott is the morning weather guy at WCBS in New York. Before New York, Elliott was the morning meteorologist at KCBS in Los Angeles and before that, he was a news and weather anchor at MSNBC and NBC News. Other stints included XETV in San Diego, KGET in Bakersfield, and WRBL in Columbus, GA.
