A Houston television reporter says he is “blessed and thankful” to have escaped a three and a half-hour kidnapping unharmed.
TV station KTRK says one of their reporters, Erik James, was forced to drive to Beaumont and back during the ordeal.
It started in the Galleria area around 3 a.m. Monday when a man with a gun forced James to drive him out of town, stating he needed to go to Beaumont to “see his girl.”
“I am alive, shaken, blessed and thankful today,” James said in a statement on Facebook. “Just finished having prints taken of my car after being car jacked/kidnapped/ and robbed at gunpoint. A 3.5 hour nightmare which could have been much much worse.” More…
