<KTRK Rebecca Spera is not returning to Houston television after maternity leave.
According to Mike McGuff, the morning-noon traffic anchor was supposed to return this week but her contract expired during her leave and she chose not to come back.

In a message on her Facebook page, Spera explained her decision to viewers.

“After a lot of thinking, soul-searching, and praying, I made the decision to not renew my TV contract with ABC13 and spend more time with my growing family. I’m so grateful for the nine + years I spent at the station and am incredibly thankful for all of my managers, coworkers, guests, and especially YOU the viewers,” she said.
