In Houston, it seems people need a break from Covid-19.

KPRC show Houston Life is getting bumped to a new time slot after its ratings soared the past few months.

The station says the show, which is hosted by three-time Emmy-winning host Derrick Shore and former KPRC 2 anchor Courtney Zavala, will now air at 3 p.m. and become the new lead-in to the 4 p.m. news show.

“We’re so confident in the direction and growth of the show,” says KPRC 2 vice president and general manager Jerry Martin. “It’s an essential part of KPRC 2′s community-based brand, and the move to the coveted 3 p.m. time slot will provide viewers with a fresh, local perspective leading into our news at 4 p.m.”

The lifestyle show has been in production since 2016. Houston Life will move to its new time slot on Aug. 17.
