Hit and Run Driver Injures Texas TV Crew

Denisse Salinas, reporter for McAllen, TX, Telemundo affiliate KTLM, and photographer JJ Ramos were hospitalized after their news vehicle was struck by a hit and run driver Monday morning.

Salinas told The Monitor she would be in the hospital for a few days with internal injuries. Ramos was later released.

According to police, the Telemundo vehicle was hit by a maroon GMC Envoy while traveling westbound along the Expressway 83 frontage road. The Envoy also hit two other vehicles before fleeing the scene.

Mission police Cpl. Manuel Casas told The Monitor, “We have a partial license plate (number) of ‘R34.”
