He joined the station in 2010, now WNYW reporter Dan Bowens is going to move to the anchor desk.
Bowens will anchor the 6 and 10 p.m. shows for the station on Saturday and Sundays.
“One of Dan’s greatest strengths is his versatility. His reporting across all topics, from hard news and sports, to science, technology and documentaries, has consistently delivered at a high level and prepared him for this new challenge,” said vice president and news director Byron Harmon.

This is home for Bowens. He grew up in New Jersey and returned home almost 10 years ago. Prior to working at Fox 5, he worked at WRAL in Raleigh, N.C.
The move is effective immediately.
