From the station group’s website: “NBC Universal Local is teaming up with hundreds of shelters across the country to host Clear the Shelters, a nationwide pet adoption drive in August 2021 that helps find loving homes for animals in need. More than 703,048 pets have found their forever homes since 2015.”

Boston ABC affiliate WCVB has been given exclusive local rights to air the Boston Marathon. The station announced that the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) said that ESPN and WCVB will serve as the exclusive national and local broadcast partners, respectively, for the Boston Marathon beginning in 2023. WCVB will also provide exclusive year-round coverage for all B.A.A. events including the B.A.A. 5K, B.A.A. 10K, and B.A.A. Half Marathon.
