Here’s the Weekly Roundup for June 17

By Kevin Eck

Happy Friday. Here at TVSpy, we get a lot of tips and leads and see a lot of stories about folks going places and doing funny things on-air that we don’t have time to write up.

Since some fine journalists have already covered most of the stories we do and some local stations post their own news about themselves, we thought we’d put together a list of stories we didn’t get to that you might want to read.

So here’s a look at some of the other stories that happened this week:

Cedar Rapids, Iowa station KCRG has hired Danielle Davis as a morning anchor. Click here for the station’s story.

WDVM and WDCW are now known as DC News Now, serving Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia. The stations announced a new anchor lineup. Click here to check it out.

On Monday, the sports, weather and weekend anchor guy at WTOK in Meridien, Miss., Ethan Bird, took a shot at the Dallas Cowboys in his weather forecast. Click here to watch him tell viewers his ten day forecast is  “looking a little bit like those Dallas Cowboys, just peaking in the 90s.”

Kate Raddatz and Gia Vang are leaving their respective Minneapolis stations.  Click here to read about Raddatz leaving CBS owned station WCCO.  And here for the story about Vang leaving KARE.

Buffalo reporter Al Vaughters is retiring from WIVB after 28 years. Click here for the story from Alan Pergament at the Buffalo News.

Gina Bentiez has joined WAFF in Huntsville, Ala. Click here to read about it.

WPXI reporter Joe Arena is leaving Pittsburgh to be an anchor at News 12 in Long Island. Click here to read about it in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
