Here’s The Roundup for the Week of September 9

Happy Friday to all who celebrate. And to the weekenders who bring us the news, we hope you have a good mix of no news and good news this weekend.

In this week’s roundup, we see the Minneapolis Fox station has added an anchor, while a Connecticut Fox station is adding a newscast. We also show you the work of our friend Scott Jones over at FTVLive, who is bringing attention to a story about WJXT in Jacksonville—and two local cops who went to the hospital after being exposed to Fentanyl. Scott gives voice to those who question the story’s accuracy.

Minneapolis Fox station WTSP announced Wednesday that Ahmad Hicks is joining the station, which follows the departure of anchor Hobie Artigue in June. Click here to read more.

FOX61 in Hartford, Connecticut announced today that it will debut a new one-hour local newscast on Monday October 10. The newscast will be anchored by Jenn Bernstein, Ben Goldman and chief meteorologist Rachel Frank, providing Connecticut with its only one-hour local newscast in the time period.

Al Carl, vice president and news director of WISH, announced the appointment of Indianapolis native and longtime Daybreak co-anchor Drew Blair as Midday and 5 p.m. Anchor, and the station’s official Breaking News anchor. Click here for more.

Friends and family gathered Thursday morning at Congregation Micah in Brentwood to remember late WTVF sports anchor Mark Howard. Howard was a sports anchor at NewsChannel 5 for nearly two decades, before becoming a fixture on sports radio for two decades more. He died July 24. Click here for more.
