In this week’s edition of stories we didn’t get to, we hear from an Iowa station that has hired its first Asian-American anchor. The Des Moines Register tells the story of the market’s local station KCCI hiring its first Asian-American anchor. We reported on the promotion of Nicole Tam (pictured) in December. Click here to read the Register’s story.
Newscast Studio said the adoption of multi-cloud infrastructure is popping up in broadcasting. Remote production has trickled down through broadcasting into corporate and even social media content makers. “After the coronavirus-related lockdowns highlighted the scalability and ease of cloud-based production, more companies started making the shift,” said Newscast Studio. Dave Silverbrand, one of Maine’s original television feature reporters, has died. Between the 1970’s and the early 90’s, Silverbrand developed an enormous following for his feature reports known as “Dave’s People.” Click here to learn more.
WTNH reporter Mike Mascadirelli tweeted out the news of his last live shot. “It’s been a pleasure reporting for News 8 and telling your stories in Connecticut,” he said on social media. “Next week I move onto my next chapter in public relations. Many thanks to my co-workers and everyone in the field who made this experience in news so much fun. I’ll miss it.”
