Here’s the Roundup for the Week Ending April 14

Happy Friday to those who celebrate! It’s time for our weekly roundup of stories we didn’t get to for one reason or another.

In this week’s edition we hear about what is believed to be the sixth bilingual female meteorologist in the United States to get her AMS seal, while a former Kansas City anchor said she left local TV to become an advocate for kids in Jackson County’s Family Court system.

Houston media blogger Mike McGuff reports that Larry Ramirez has been promoted to sports director at KSAT in San Antonio. He takes the spot vacated by Greg Simmons who resigned in January 2023 after being arrested and charged with DWI. Click here for more.

McGuff also said Dylan Federico has joined the weather team at Dallas Fox station KDFW from WINK in Fort Myers, Florida. The new North Texas meteorologist will work day side and occasionally fill-in on morning newscast “Good Day!” Click here for more.

Local Kansas City anchor and reporter Gabriella Pagan suddenly disappeared from television last year. She told Up To Date she had to leave her career in journalism to confront childhood trauma and abuse in her past. That’s how she became an advocate for kids in Jackson County’s Family Court system. The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation today announced that the Foundation has donated $10,000 to “The Road to Recovery Telethon” to assist with the cleanup and recovery efforts in Crawford County, IL, and Sullivan County, IN, following a deadly EF-3 tornado on Friday, March 31. WLWT and Hearst Television announced today that Chris Jacobs is joining WLWT News 5 as an anchor and reporter. Beginning May 1, Jacobs can be seen co-anchoring WLWT News 5 with Ashley Kirklen weeknights at 7 p.m. and on WLWT News 5 at 10 p.m. on MeTV Cincinnati. Click here for more.
