Here’s a Roundup of the New and Old in Local Station Hurricane Coverage

Every major storm brings out the innovations and cliches in reporting. Here’s a quick rundown of what local stations are doing to keep their viewers informed while Hurricane Matthew batters Florida.

One innovation we haven’t seen before is the streaming of local station feeds on Facebook. TVSpy can watch local hurricane coverage from the 29th floor of our building on 50th Street and 8th Ave. in Manhattan.

Below is the live feed from FirstCoastNews, the NBC and ABC affiliate in Jacksonville, which is next up in Matthew’s path.

WJAX-WFOX the CBS and Fox affiliate is also streaming live.

WPEC in Orlando sent its drone up to check damage. Click here to watch the live video from the station.

WESH in Orlando pulled out its 14 box to show how many reporters it had covering Hurricane Matthew.
