Longtime Chattanooga news personality, Don Welch, has passed away.
According to WTVC’s website, Welch suffered from Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body dementia.
“Don was from this community and he truly loved this community and the community returned that to him in trust and love for years and years and years,” said NewsChannel 9 news director, Tom Henderson.

Welch retired from the station in 2014. He hosted the midday community show, This N That.
Once the news of his death this weekend made headlines, news personalities in the market took to social media to remember Welch.
