Hartford Traffic Reporter Steps Back After 20 Years

By Kevin Eck

Rachel Lutzker is leaving Hartford Fox affiliate WTIC to spend more time with her family.

The Connecticut reporter, who previously held stints at WCBS in New York and WFSB in Hartford, told viewers that after more than 20 years covering traffic, she wanted to “be present” when her kids come home from school.

In a post on Facebook, Lutzker said said she wanted to step down to be able to handle homework and sports and be able to attend games, practices and other school activities.

“I’ve known for a long time that this is what I needed to do,” she wrote.

Lutzker isn’t stepping away from the news entirely. She will continue hosting her radio show on radio station The River 105.9, she said.
