WLUK morning meteorologist Pete Petoniak has been hospitalized after testing positive for Covid-19.
Petoniak’s co-anchors Rachel Manek and Justin Steinbrinck announced the news on the Green Bay Fox affiliate’s morning show on Monday.
“Pete’s case has progressed now to a point that he is currently being hospitalized here in Green Bay. He has been at the hospital since last Monday night,” Steinbrinck said during the announcement. “Now Pete wants people to know that he was fully vaccinated when he contracted the virus.”
The Green Bay Press Gazette reports the news “brought a flurry of get-well wishes from viewers, fellow local media personalities, the entire Fond du Lac Fire Department and others.”
The station said Steinbrink, Patrick Powell and Phil DeCastro will be switching shifts to cover his absence.
