KVIA weekend anchor and reporter Sam Harasimowicz was surprised on-air by one of his favorite meteorologists, ABC News chief meteorologist Ginger Zee.
Zee popped up on screen during the 5 p.m. newscast on Saturday to congratulate Harasimowicz on his promotion to weekend evening anchor.
“This is just the beginning. This is an exciting time and I hope you can stop, look around, enjoy it for a second because that is something I was always so worried about getting to that next thing that I don’t think I took it in,” Zee said.
“I am just so excited to be a part of the celebration and every single step is a big one. Celebrate it and then get back to work,” said Zee.
Harasimowicz said he became a fan of Zee shortly after he began working at the El Paso, Texas ABC affiliate as a morning producer for Good Morning El Paso back in the summer of 2021.
“It was so sweet of Ginger to take the time and send this video in,” said Harasimowicz.
