Gannett Hires Scripps’ Head of Programming

Bob Sullivan has been named SVP of programming for Gannett Broadcasting.

Sullivan comes from Scripps, where he was VP of content. He’s worked for Gannett before. He was GM of WUSA in Washington, D.C., news director and station manager at KPNX in Phoenix, news director at WTLV in Jacksonville, and assistant news director at KUSA in Denver.

The Gannett press release says Sullivan will “develop a pipeline of non-news local content on traditional and new platforms across Gannett and for national syndication.” He’ll also head up syndication negotiations for the station group

Dave Lougee, Gannett Broadcasting president said, “Bob has extensive experience creating entertaining programming as well as negotiating syndication and carriage contracts. We look forward to Bob joining the team and welcoming him back to Gannett.”

Sullivan was president of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee for Super Bowl XLII. He also produced, wrote and presented three more bids to land future Super Bowls in Arizona.
