Fox Sports Reporter Makes Racist and Anti-Semitic Remarks

By Kevin Eck

Fox Sports Florida sideline reporter Emily Austen made several racist and derogatory comments while she was on a sports website’s Facebook live show. The rant starts around 25:00 into the video below.

After calling NBA player Kevin Love “a little bitch” a lot while she was a guest on Barstool Sports, Austen piled racist comment atop racist comment by starting with “I didn’t even know Mexicans were that smart,” then saying “You guys know that the Chinese guy is always the smartest guy in math class,” and ending with a story about “the way I used to talk to Jews in Boca” when she was a server.

Deadpsin, which first reported the story, got a comment from Fox Sports Florida which said Austen was not “speaking on behalf of FOX Sports.”

“We were made aware that Emily Austen appeared in a social media video unaffiliated with FOX Sports in which she made insensitive and derogatory comments,” Fox Sports Florida svp Steve Tello told Deadspin after they published the story. “She was not speaking on behalf of FOX Sports, nor do we condone any of the statements she made in the video. Emily has been advised that her comments were unacceptable, and she is not scheduled to appear on any upcoming FOX Sports Florida or FOX Sports Sun broadcasts.”

At some point after the video was broadcast on Facebook, it was deleted. In a post on Barstool, they wrote “we (Hank probably) somehow deleted the video which was supposed to be edited for the actual show today.” But somebody saved and uploaded the broadcast to Vimeo, and a link to it eventually blew up on r/NBA.
