WTTG is expanding its brand in the D.C. market. The FOX-owned sister station, WDCA Channel 20, is being renamed ‘FOX 5 Plus’. The station will launch a daily 8pm primetime newscast.
According to a press release, this is part of a local rebranding effort.
“Given Fox 5’s brand recognition, this extension gives us the ability to build upon our strength in the marketplace and provide our viewers with additional opportunities to watch Fox 5 News,” vice president-general manager, Patrick Paolini said.

FOX5’s current 10pm anchor team, Tony Perkins and Shawn Yancy, will be the faces of the new newscast and it will focus on local and national headlines
