Philadelphia anchor Jeannette Reyes, who went viral last month for a series of hilarious TikToks about using her “anchor voice” at home, is joining Fox 5 D.C.’s morning team.

Reyes, who had been at WPVI, will serve as the morning co-anchor for the Fox 5 Morning News and Good Day D.C. on WTTG. Each weekday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., she’ll anchor alongside Steve Chenevey, meteorologist Tucker Barnes and traffic anchor Erin Como.

From 9 a.m. through 11 a.m., Reyes and Chenevey join morning anchors Wisdom Martin, Holly Morris, Marissa Mitchell, Tucker Barnes and Erin Como on Good Day D.C.

Her first day is Dec. 7.

“Jeannette is the definition of a renaissance TV anchor,” said WTTG vp and news director Paul McGonagle. “She’s bilingual, has major market experience, and clearly understands the need for strong journalism and good reporting. How lucky are we that she’s always dreamed of working at Fox 5!”

It’s Reyes second stint in D.C. She was a general assignment reporter at WJLA before she moved to WPVI. It’s also the city where her husband, WJLA morning anchor Robert Burton, lives and works.

“I will be doing what I love, in a town I love and living with a person I love,” Reyes said. “Yes, I know my husband and I will be working at competing stations, in the same time slots, but what better way is there to demonstrate how to be competitive and compassionate at the same time? I will work hard to earn the trust and respect of the people who count on us to keep them informed.”
