WXTF has a new evening anchor team.
The Philadelphia station has brought in Jason Martinez from KGTV in San Diego to co-anchor the 5, 6, 10 and 11 p.m. shows with Shaina Humphries.
“We’re excited to have someone of Jason’s caliber joining Shaina, Kathy Orr, Scott Williams, Kristen Rodgers and our strong reporters to round out our great team at night,” said station vice president and news director Jim Driscoll.
“My family and I are thrilled to be calling Philadelphia home. Coming from San Diego and Miami, I was told that it’s ‘always sunny’ here so I think we’ll fit right in! I’m truly excited to hit the ground running with my news family at FOX 29 and share the stories of Philadelphians, especially the normal, everyday people…like Bryce Harper,” said Martinez.
Prior to San Diego, Martinez worked at WPLG in Miami.
He starts on June 17.
