Fox 26 Hires New General Assignment Reporter

KRIV‘s newest reporter comes from WFMZ in Lehigh Valley, Pa.

Maria Salazar will join the Fox-owned station in Houston as a general assignment reporter.

“Maria is a compelling and compassionate storyteller who will help to find the answers and solutions that our viewers need,” said station vice president and news director Susan Schiller.

Most recently, Salazar served as a reporter for WFMZ 69 News. Prior to that, she was a reporter and producer at WKTB Telemundo, Atlanta, and a client engagement specialist and on-air talent for WUVM 4 Azteca, Atlanta.

Salazar holds a bachelor’s degree in public policy and a master’s in social foundations of education from Georgia State University.

“I look forward to becoming a Houstonian and serving our community, sharing in the lives of our viewers and having the privilege to tell their stories,” said Salazar.
