The great WINK-NBC2 fight over some exclusive video has apparently ended not with a bang, but with a whimper.
A letter from the CBS network’s legal department was sent to NBC2, admonishing the station for using copyrighted CBS material and confirming that NBC2 will never use this particular video again.
You may recall the brouhaha started on July 24, when CBS’s “The Early Show” got the first on-camera interview with Scott Janke and his wife, Anabela Mota Janke. Scott Janke was the town manager for Fort Myers Beach until town leaders found out his wife was in porn movies.
Because WINK-TV is a CBS affiliate, the local station was able to get its own interview with the Jankes that same day. They promoted it as an “exclusive” all day, meaning WINK would be the only station in town to have it. More…
