Cleared of Assault Charges, Former WPIX Reporter Vince DeMentri Says ‘I Need a Job’

Former WPIX reporter Vince DeMentri was acquitted Tuesday of all charges stemming from a confrontation with the chauffeur of a Bahamian ambassador.

The chauffeur accused DeMentri of slapping him and calling him the n-word after the two got into an argument over a parking spot near the United Nations headquarters last May.

“Nobody believed me,” DeMentri said on Tuesday afternoon after a Manhattan judge quickly ended the case, which was postponed last week after the chauffeur was accused of lying on the stand.
