Former WJLA Anchor May Make Run for Congress

By Kevin Eck

Politico reports Kathleen Matthews, former anchor at WJLA and wife of MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews is planning to run for Congress.

Matthews is the EVP and chief of global communications and public affairs officer for Marriott International. If she runs, she will aim for Maryland Rep. Chris Van Hollen‘s seat. Democrat Van Hollen is looking to replace retiring Senator Barbara Mikulski in 2016.

Politico, which is owned by Robert Allbritton of the Allbritton family which once owned WJLA, says Matthews has been interviewing political consultants.
