Former WDSU investigative reporter Richard Angelico was carjacked Monday night.

The New Orleans NBC affiliate reported the 71-year-old Angelico was not injured.

Angelico said one of the teens demanded his car keys. He refused, and one of them grabbed his keys from his hand.

The four men got into his Ford F-150 truck and left the neighborhood. Officers recovered Angelico’s truck in the 2500 block Aubry Street around 6:30 p.m., police said.

Crime lab workers are processing the truck for DNA evidence.

Angelico told New Orleans police officers that one of the teenagers was wearing a hooded jacket with his face partially covered while he held a black semi-automatic handgun in his right hand. He said one of the other teenagers was possibly Hispanic with a light complexion. He said the other two teenagers stood in the street as lookouts.

The Times-Picayune reports Angelico’s Ford F-150 has since been recovered.
