Former KQDS Meteorologist Given Days to Live

By Kevin Eck

Chris Snider, former meteorologist for Duluth FOX affiliate KQDS, will be heading home to Minnesota to live out his last days. He was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer in his jawbone this summer.

According to Duluth ABC affiliate WDIO, doctors have given the 28-year-old a few days to live. He left KQDS in 2011 to do missionary work in Mississippi,

“He really didn’t think it was going to be a big deal,” his sister, Tabatha Snider told the Duluth News Tribune in a story last week. In the story, Snider seemed optimistic about her brother’s chances of recovery after visiting him in Biloxi, MS, where he is in a hospital.

“He was very active,” she said of the visit. “He’s very upbeat. He’s pushing really hard. We went to the beach, went to the mall, we walked. He’d get tired pretty easy.”

Snider had worked at KQDS from 2008 until 2011. He will arrive at his sister’s house in Floodwood, MN tomorrow.
