Former WDBJ anchor and health reporter Joy Sutton is launching a new lifestyle show in Roanoke. Filmed before a live studio audience, “Hour of Joy” will focus on positive news and inspirational stories.
“Ever since I was 13 years old, I always wanted to have my own talk show,” Sutton told WDBJ recently (video above).
The show will air on WDBJ’s MyNetworkTV digital subchannel, as well as Fox-affiliate WFXR, beginning in February.
Sutton spent 11 years at WDBJ before leaving for a job in public relations last year.
“Who knows where it’s going to take off,” said Sutton, “because I say, ‘Move over Oprah! You have your own network now.’ It’s time for Joy.”
