Susan Carlson is joining WMAQ in Chicago as a freelance reporter, a spokesperson for the NBC owned station confirmed to TVSpy. Carlson is a former anchor at rival WBBM, the CBS O&O in Chicago.

According to Chicagoland Radio and Media, which first reported the news, Carlson will be a reporter for WMAQ’s newly-expanded weekend morning newscasts.

Carlson worked at WBBM for 10 years before she was released from her contract in March. She began her television career at Chicago CW affiliate WGN, where she was a traffic reporter, in 1995. She went on to work as a reporter at ABC O&O WLS before she joined WBBM, where she would work in a variety of roles before eventually taking over at the morning anchor desk.
