Former Los Angeles anchor Dave Gonzales will be the fill-in anchor at KBAK until the Bakersfield, Calif., CBS affiliate can find a permanent replacement for Kurt Rivera.
News director Cristi Jessee told staff in an email obtained by TVSpy, Gonzales starts Thursday and will anchor the 5, 6, 10 and 11 p.m. news.
Rivera left the station two weeks ago after being arrested, but not charged, for spousal battery. Gonzales left KCAL after 17 years in 2012.
