Former WWSB anchor Alan Cohn is running for office in Florida, for the second time.

He’s hoping to win a congressional seat, which covers portions of Hillsborough, Lake and Polk counties.

This isn’t his first time he’s run. In 2014, Cohn ran as a Democrat and lost of former U.S. Representative Dennis Ross. After that, he returned to television and anchored the 7 p.m. newscast and served as managing editor for that show.

“I’m running for Congress to hold the powerful accountable,” Cohn said in a press release.

Cohn is a longtime journalist who’s won a number of awards including a Peabody Award.

He is running against Representative Adam Hattersley.
