Aaron Weiss has been named news director of KMEG–KPTH in Sioux City, IA.
“Aaron brings to us a terrific news pedigree, a track record of ratings success and a deep understanding of new and social media,” said Steve Scollard, vice president and general manger of KMEG and KPTH, in announcing the hiring.
Weiss has a unique background that includes significant experience in the software industry, including time working as a program manager at Microsoft.
Most recently, Weiss served as news integration manager at KGW in Portland, where he received several Edward R. Murrow Awards for his work producing breaking news coverage.
“I’m excited to work with such a passionate and talented group of journalists,” Weiss said. “As my wife and I searched for places to raise our one-year-old daughter, we kept ending up in the Midwest. We look forward to making Sioux City our home.”
