A new face has popped up on KTRK, one that is familiar to many Texas viewers.
Hugh Lewis, who served as sports director at Austin’s KVUE in the 80s, recently began working as a sports reporter for the Houston ABC O&O.
As Houston media blogger Mike McGuff points out, Lewis is joining a team that has been without veteran sports anchor Tim Melton since October.

KTRK could use the extra help with a handful of big sports stories happening in the market, including the first ever NFL playoff berth by the Houston Texans.
The station has not offered an official statement on the status of Melton or on how long Lewis will be working for them.
