Former KOMU Anchor Returns to Station

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

Former KOMU morning anchor, Emily Spain, is returning to Columbia, Missouri as a nightside anchor.

“Emily is a top-notch journalist, the kind that can really dig into a story and find the part that you need to know. She’s the kind of journalist that can tell a story that makes you cry one day then tell a story that makes you angry enough to demand change the next day. Those are rare,” said KOMU 8 news director Randy Reeves.

KOMU is the NBC affiliate owned by the University of Missouri.

Spain is a graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism. She anchored the station’s morning newscast from 2012 to 2014 before taking a reporter job at WFMY, the CBS affiliate in Greensboro, North Carolina.
