Former GM of WGHP and WJZY Dies at 62

Karen Adams, former GM of WGHP and WJZY, died suddenly over the weekend from medical complications. She was 62.

Adams started working at the High Point, N.C. Fox affiliate as a camera operator in 1976 and worked as a master control operator, director, producer and VP of Programming and Community Affairs, before being named vp and GM in 1997.

She moved on to Fox-owned Charlotte, N.C. station WJZY where she was named vp and GM in March 2013. In 2015, Fox promoted her to vp of Corporate Initiatives. She left Fox before the end of the year.
