Former CBS Correspondent Passes Away

David Dick
, a former TV correspondent for CBS, news editor for WHAS and founder of a rural weekly newspaper in Bourbon County, died Friday at his home. He was 80.

Dick earned an Emmy for his coverage of the 1972 assassination attempt on Alabama Gov. George Wallace, who was running for president. Dick also won acclaim for his work on the Jonestown massacre, in which 900 people committed suicide in 1978 in a settlement in Guyana founded by cult leader Jim Jones. More…
