Former Carolina News Director Roy Hardee Dies

A man synonymous with news in eastern Carolina has passed away today.

Roy Hardee lived most of his life in Greenville until moving with his son to Kansas almost two years ago. Hardee’s son says his father had been suffering from complications from advanced Parkinson’s Disease.

He first came to television at WNCT-TV in the 1950’s. He shot television news on film, including Hurricane Helene and numerous other storms since.
