Melissa Mahan has been named anchor for CBS and Fox affiliates KCOY-KKFX in the Santa Barbara-San Luis Obispo-Santa Maria market.

Mahan left WFXT in Boston where she was an anchor and reporter last November. She went to UCSB and once worked at Santa Barbara ABC affiliate KEYT.

“I’m thrilled to return to the Central Coast where my television career started,” Mahan said. “After working at TV stations across the country, I can honestly say there is no place I would rather call home. I’m honored to join such a talented news team and become part of a very special community.”

She replaces Paula Lopez who is scheduled to be arraigned Monday after being arrested for DUI and battery on a peace officer.
