Former Atlanta Anchor Gloria Neal: ‘I Was Not Fired’

By Kevin Eck

Atlanta anchor Gloria Neal left WGCL in November.

Friday, she did a Facebook live video telling viewers she left the Atlanta CBS affiliate because she had no choice, but gave no details why.

Saying what happened at the Atlanta CBS affiliate was “most unfortunate and inexplicable” she said she opened up about her departure after Thanksgiving because she wanted to spend time with her family.

“I am not frivolous nor am I fake,” said Neal. “I might be new to Atlanta, but I am not new to me.”

Saying she would not repay the generosity shown by Atlanta viewers with pettiness or hostility, she said “I kept what challenges I was having private because I wanted to make sure those who were involved with that was just that. Private. I am a professional. I have worked my entire career on being a professional. I have integrity. I have always put you the viewer first.”
