Former Anchor Writes Book About Getting Out of TV News

Trisha Shepherd says finding that healthy balance between work and life sometimes means you have to leave your job and never look back.

In 2011, Shepherd left Indianapolis ABC affiliate WRTV, where she’d been an evening news anchor. “My family’’s juggling act has become more challenging recently with both my husband and I working nights, and two of our three children in school full day. I knew it was time for a big change,” she said at the time.

Now, she’s written a book about her decision–and the one many other parents face. “I was trying to do a job that was not compatible with life,” she said in an interview on WISH about her new book, “Know When to Run: Lessons from the Diary of a Gen X Mom.”
