Former WDSI anchor Dan Howell has announced plans to run for the Tennessee State House District 22 in 2014.
Howell started working at the Chattanooga, TN, FOX affiliate in 1994. For the past five years he has been executive assistant to Bradley County Mayor Gary Davis.
“I determined if I were ever given the opportunity to repay this community I would take it,” Howell said in a statement. “That is why I am announcing my campaign for State Representative.”

In 2002, Howell was named “Religion Reporter of the Year for Secular Media” by the Religion Newswriters of America.
