Houston Fox-owned station KRIV has hired Jonathan Martin as an anchor.

On Monday, May 9, he’ll join Melinda Spaulding as co-anchor of the 5 and 9 p.m. newscasts.

“Jonathan is an accomplished storyteller, a charismatic partner for co-anchor Melinda Spaulding, and will undoubtedly be a prime leader in the editorial life of our newsroom,” said vp and news director Robert Morford.

Martin was a national correspondent for Al Jazeera America. Before that, he was the weekend anchor at WSMV in Nashville. He’s also worked at WRDW in Augusta, Ga., WFXA FM in Augusta and WSB in Atlanta.
